I studied directing at the Filmhochschule Potsdam Babelsberg and worked for many years in public-service television. Alongside this, I made films of my own - independently and in a variety of formats.
When my children were small, I deliberately withdrew from the film business, worked as a paramedic and set up a naturopathic practice in Berlin. That was not a turning away from storytelling but another way of working with people.
Since 2001 I have been teaching students from all over the world in the fields of film and writing. Alongside this, I develop and realise my own projects in film, theatre and literature.
Despite all the detours, I have never stopped telling stories - in screenplays, stage plays and prose. Today I bring this work together again: film, theatre and literature - and the experience of a very direct, practical way of working with people.
